Miami’s Backyard Beckons — Don’t Miss This Event Sept. 12

Central America (not Brazil) is South Florida’s #1 trading partner, yet the opportunities the region has to offer are often underestimated. From call centers to software development, from textiles to aerospace, the isthmus is a sleeping giant. Time to refocus.

Business Connections is assembling a star-studded panel of business leaders from Central America and experts on the region — including Pablo Vargas, CEO of Grupo Britt (confirmed), Armando Arias, Managing Partner of Arias y Munoz (confirmed), Oscar Garcia, CEO of InterFlight Global (confirmed) — to discuss the business trends impacting Central America, to showcase its success stories, and to focus on the opportunities the region has to offer for international investors.

Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Northern Trust Bank, located at 700 Brickell Avenue, Miami. There’s a special rate for friends of Lisa Treister Communications.

Court Cares

The YWCA Court Care Cocktail Party, chaired by Gerald I. Kornreich, is one of my favorite annual fundraising events because the funds raised are dedicated to day care centers in Criminal Court and Family Court. A third center is slated to open this year. This year’s event will be held Thursday, April 14, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Sabadell Financial Center, 30th Floor, 1111 Brickell Avenue, Miami. A $60 donation will be accepted at the door, or online.
